Making the Most of Retirement

When my wife and I retired a few years ago, we decided to reward ourselves for a lifetime of hard work. For starters, we took a two-year escapade around the globe, traveling to all of the countries we’ve read about in order to experience the culture and scenery firsthand. After we arrived back home, we decided to sell our house and purchase a small waterfront villa.

Since our new abode was considerably cheaper, we had a sizeable chunk of change left over from the sale. We used the funds to invest in a sizeable yacht—for further sojourning—and a motorboat to entertain our children and grandkids. Of course, we also purchased a surfeit of inflatable water toys to keep the kids entertained and encourage frequent trips to grandma and grandpa’s house.
