Fishfinders are becoming a very popular product with manufacturers such as Humming Bird, Lowrance, Eagle, Garmin and Vexilar.  You need to figure out what kind of fishfinder you need: portable or permanent.   For a small boat or ice fishing you need to use a portable fishfinder because of the different situations.  If it is a big fishing boat then a permanent one is good to use.
