The Versatility of a Handheld GPS
, 08 30th, 2010
I originally bought my Garmin handheld GPS for geocaching and hiking through the secluded forests in the Pacific Northwest, but I quickly found it was much more versatile than I gave it credit for. As you can imagine, this handheld GPS was designed specifically for the outdoors. Its high-sensitivity receiver can get a signal virtually anywhere, be it tall brush and foliage or a remote cavern.
And since the unit is waterproof, it’s safe to take on the boat too. I know most of the waters around my home like the back of my hand, but we recently went on vacation to Lake Chelan, and I was a little unfamiliar with what was along the shoreline. The GPS unit helped us find some trails and definitely helped us make the most of our trip.
