If you are putting a new audio system in your boat or replacing the one you have you want to make sure you use waterproof speakers.  Stereo speakers are usually mounted low in the boat where it is very hard to keep anything dry and if you do not have waterproof speakers your speakers will not last very long.  Their are a lot of waterproof speakers available for sale so you will not have a problem finding the size and quality you want.

If you are using radios of any kind on your boat you want to make sure they are waterproof radios and not radios that are made for dry land use.  If you do any boating at all you know it is very hard to keep anything dry in a boat because if you are a fisherman you are probably boating in some weather that is not the best and if you are a recreational boater you have people in and out of the water which leaves everything wet so that is why you want waterproof radios.
