If your are adding or replacing electronic items on your boat you want to make sure they are waterproof even if you are putting them in areas that you think will stay dry. One of the most common items replaced is the radio so you want to make sure you select the correct one from a large selection of waterproof radios. Even if you are thinking about purchasing a handheld radio you want to make sure it is waterproof and the manufacture states that it is for marine use. If you are installing a new stereo and it is waterproof you also need to make sure the connections are waterproof and the wiring is for marine use.
